Meet The Doctors

Dusanka Gvozdic MD CCFP

“Family medicine is part of the process by which medicine adjusts itself to the changing needs of society. Family physicians have in common the fact that they obtain fulfillment from personal relations more than from the technical aspects of medicine. Their commitment is to a group of people more than to a body of knowledge.” — I. R. McWhinney
A lifelong passion for helping others led me into medicine—and drives me every day to provide high-quality, compassionate care. As your family physician, I believe in a holistic approach: listening, understanding, and working together to find solutions that feel right for you.
I was born in the former Yugoslavia and practiced as a fully licensed physician before coming to Canada. Here, I joined McGill University’s research teams studying cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, and the detection of hypertension in primary care—while fulfilling the credentials needed for independent practice. I went on to complete my Family Medicine residency at the University of Western Ontario.
I care deeply about the health and well-being of my patients, not just their physical condition but also their life circumstances. I find joy in supporting people through every stage of life, from wellness visits and preventive care to complex health challenges.
I also hold hospital privileges in Halton and often assist in surgical procedures.

Adriana Dragan MD MHSc CCFP FRCP
"Medicine is not only a science: it is also an art. It does not consist of compounding pills and plasters: it deals with the very processes of life, which must be understood before they may be guided." (Paracelsus)
This quote has guided me through all my years of practicing medicine, from my med school and 10 years of practice in my home country Romania, and continuing through all my Canadian medical experience both as a public health and a family physician. My residency training in Family Medicine and Public Health and Preventive Medicine at McMaster University added fresh, solid knowledge to my practical skills, and also better understanding on how to empower people to stay healthy and well, by listening and guiding them to do what's best for them, and to prevent rather than treat the disease.

I really enjoy my comprehensive family practice "from cradle to grave" and I put a lot of energy and passion in all my day to day work.

I strongly believe that all people in Halton deserve access to high-quality, equitable, effective patient-centered care. Since 2021 I've taken a leadership role as part of the executive committee of the Halton Physician Association, working tirelessly toward facilitating our physicians help our communities solve complex healthcare problems.
*At this time, Dr. Dragan is not accepting new patients.
